2000, when he left the Mariners and signed a record 10 year – 252 million dollar contract with Tom Hicks and the Texas Rangers. I live in Seattle, and lived here then. A-Rod kept saying to the Seattle Times press during the 2000 season, that he wanted to talk extension after the season and that it WASN’T GOING TO BE ABOUT MONEY. Yeah right, he turned into pay-rod, because Boras and his agency created all of these charts, and multi-color graphs, that Corporations use for Corporate mergers, etc. He showed what A-Rod’s future stats will be, etc. and that he will eventually be a Hall of Famer, and he basically created this unreal market price for A-Rod and put it on a line, well, Tom Hicks took a bite from it, and thus set into motion Pay-Rod, a guy who went from making 5 million a year in Seattle to the 20-30 million dollar a year range, just based on the HYPE that Boras created. Now, when the question is posed, is A-Rod worth the kinda money he is getting paid with the Yankees,
25-35 million a year, people say yes most of the time, because they have seen the unreal numbers he has put up the past 7 years since he signed the huge contract, and they basically have bought into the hype created by Scott Boras. Maybe A-Rod is worth that to the big market Yankees, because they make the money back from selling his jersey’s, YES network, etc. But still, to the average fan out there like me and you, who scrapes by to earn a living, this guy is not worth the money he is getting paid. He just signed a 10 year 300 million dollar extension with the Yankees, come on, that’s a lot of money to play a game. And this was all created by the master Illusionist Scott Boras. And for all this money, you know how many World Series rings A-Rod has??? ZERO. So, he’s really not worth it in my opinion. My question is, do you think that Scott Boras created this unrealistic market value for A-Rod based on his illusions, or is A-Rod really worth 100′s of millions of dollars?
Hey idiot, you are the sucker who has to PAY extra money because these fools like PAY-ROD make all of this money. It gets thrown back on the fans like YOU who go to YANKEE STADIUM. Don’t you think the Yankees have raised ticket prices since having huge payrolls? It means that suckers like YOU have to pay more for tickets. I rarely go to Mariner games, however, when I do, I get the cheap seats and move down. People are suckers to pay $100 for a ticket to see a game. Also, the Yankees get a cut from those $8 beers you buy, $6 dollar hot dogs, etc, $20 parking, etc, etc, etc. THESE PLAYERS ARE ONLY WORTH IT TO THE TEAMS BECAUSE THE TEAMS CHARGE MORE TO IDIOT FANS LIKE YOU, and as long as you keep paying to go to games, these teams can keep afford paying these jerks 25 million a year.

“Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power.”
-Benito Mussolini
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporatism
Political scientists may also use the term corporatism to describe a practice whereby a state, through the process of licensing and regulating officially-incorporated social, religious, economic, or popular organizations, effectively co-opts their leadership or circumscribes their ability to challenge state authority by establishing the state as the source of their legitimacy, as well as sometimes running them, either directly or indirectly through corporations. This usage is particularly common in the area of East Asian studies, and is sometimes also referred to as state corporatism. Some analysts have applied the term neocorporatism to certain practices in Western European countries, such as the Tupo in Finland and Proporz system in Austria.[3] At a popular level in recent years “corporatism” has been used to mean the promotion of the interests of private corporations in government over the interests of the public.

THIRD WAY or THIRD REICH ?

In what way are the following quotes not similar regarding thought and ambition?
“Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power”
[Benito Mussolini]
“Fascism recognizes the real needs which give rise to socialism and trade-unionism, giving them due weight in the guild or corporate system in which divergent interests are coordinated and harmonized in unity of the state”
[Benito Mussolini]
“It doesn’t matter who owns something… it only matters you controls it”
[Adolf Hitler]
“Bring corporations under stake-holder [state] control”… Book: Don’t Think Of An Elephant”: The Essential Guide For Progressives… heavily promoted by the DNC.
[George Lakoff]
My fellow Americans, we have found a THIRD WAY… this THIRD WAY calls for business and government to join hands as partners… to use technology, research and market incentives to meet national needs.

RE: avail_skillz…
I offer quotes that demonstrate ominous parallels of thought and ambition regarding Third Way Doctrines [proposed by the neoprogressive left here and in Europe] and Fascist Socialism and your only response is a sophmoric adhominim attack on the credibility of Newsmax, while offering nothing substantive that countervails what Newsmax said in their article.
Well… here are additional links that support Newsmax’s artical… one of which is from one of the most Leftwing newspapers in this country… The New York Times…

“NO GARSONE”… your mendacious shallow minded tripe, and sorry attempt at obfuscation, and utter lack of critical thought [without reconciling said quotes]…
…clearly demonstrates that [regarding your Hitler quote] Hitler was referring to subjective, group-think, goose-stepping, heal-clicking, revisionist bloats like yourself.
No doubt Goebbel would be utterly amused messing with your small mind… with its total lack of self-reflection and critical thought.
Moreover… with no credit to you… your pathetic response [which typifies Leftist dialectic rhetoric] further establishes the fascistic mentallity of Neoprogrogressive Leftists and their tacit aggreement with the opinion expressed in the following quote [especially so since the unDemocratic Party is pushing for the establishment of the so called Fairness Doctrine promoted by Pres. Cand. Kucinich]…
“Words are more powerful than guns!… Now we wouldn’t let our enemies have guns… why would we let them have ideas!
[Joseph Stalin]… referred to as Uncle Joe by Leftists in America!
‘The Experts agree… Gun Control works’
[Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin]
Oh by the way… thanks for the Hitler qoute!
I’ll make good use of it … I assure you!
